Thanks to the many volunteers who came out this summer, we finished our work cleaning veteran headstones in Placerville Union Cemetery. Our next “headstone party” will focus on tackling the remaining lichen-encrusted historic headstones that need cleaning and/or straightening.
On Saturday, September 28, please join us along with Boys Team Charity and National Charity League for our last work party this summer. Headstone cleaning is satisfying and important work.
Details: Supervisors will be on hand to show volunteers VA-approved, safe, headstone cleaning techniques. Cleaning supplies will be provided but if you can, please bring gloves. All ages are welcome. Advance registration required.
Wear: sun hat, work clothes and sturdy shoes. Terrain is irregular.
