In June 2024, Save the Graves hosted a project to paint all eight of Placerville Union Cemetery’s mausoleums. The work was funded by a $5,000 grant from the City of Placerville Cannabis Benefit Fund. Hangtown Painting did the work. Materials were donated by the Webb family, which owns The Paint Spot.
Save the Graves is grateful to be a recipient of a 2023 Cannabis Benefit Fund Grant from the City of Placerville. Many thanks to Hangtown Painting for respecting the historic cemetery, and for the meticulous preparation and professional work. The mausoleums look great and will be protected for years to come. Even the railings got a much-needed coat of paint. We also want to thank The Paint Spot for their generous donation of paint and materials. The entire project was completed with the $5,000 grant funding.
